Introducing Soltre' James!

Photobucket

Soltre (pronounced Sultry) James was born and raised on the East Side of Chicago. As a child, she was always surrounded by music; both sides of her families are musically inclined. Soltre started singing at the age of 8, when she joined her school's Glee Club, under the direction of Mrs. Angela Mays and later Mr. James A. Morris. During her high school years, music seemed to be a hobby, not a career she would pursue. Her dream at that time was to become an Obstetrician Gynecologist. So she went to pursue that dream at Illinois State University (Bloomington-Normal).

Soltre never felt complete working in this field, something kept pulling at her heart…MUSIC. She came back home and enrolled at Columbia College Chicago, where she later got her B.A. in Music Business Management. During this time, she began working as an engineer with J.A.W. Entertainment. While there, Soltre started writing and singing hooks for different artists. She started to feel complete and realized this was her calling.

Soltre got her first break background singing for Chicago artist, Jaya. From there she had the opportunity to sing background for Sherry Amour, J. Hollins, Anton Genius, and LadiLyke, who opened the Taste of Chicago 2007.

Soltre is stepping out and as her vocal coach Lyndia Johnson would say, "When you buy a gift, what do you do with it…you give it to someone," and she is doing just that…she is letting the world witness the wonderful gift God has given her…
